Is it bravery that makes one share a personal story?

Instead of using the word brave, I would like to say that I share my story in order to help others. I don’t feel brave. All I feel is a great need to try to alleviate the terrible suffering of parents out there who have children suffering from a mental illness.

I would like to see people talk out the way I have learned to do, organize walks in order to let the world know that a mental illness is a brain illness and should be spoken about the way we speak about any other illness like cancer or diabetes. Only by speaking out will be be able to beat the stigma and discrimination; the same  discrimination felt by people who are handicapped in one way or another.
