A self-important college freshman walking along the beachfront, took it upon himself to explain to senior citizens resting on a bench, why it was impossible for older people to understand his generation.
“You seniors grew up in a different world, you know. Actually, it was an almost primitive place compared to today,” the student commented in a voice loud enough for others to hear. “We, the young people of today, are brought up with television, sophisticated planes, space travel, electronic devices, as well as men walking on the moon. We have nuclear energy, cruise liners, streamlined cars, smart phones, computers that work at lightning speed, iPads, kindles and so much more.”
After a brief silence, one of the senior citizens responded.
“You’re quite right. We didn’t have those things when we were young, so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little shit, “Tell me what you are going to do for the next generation?”
The applause from the crowd that had collected, was loud.
